Why is it that I cannot see a script executing under "at" using ps -ef?? I can see it when the script is scheduled under cron.

For example, if: at 1300 /home/user1/script1.sh

then, ps -ef | grep -i script1 doesn't return anything even though I have know the script is executing because I have it echoing output to a file every few seconds.

one work around for this prblem .... pass $1 value to the script ...

if yr cmd is script1 .sh "Hello"


then ..... do ...

ps -ef | grep -i script1 ... u can see yr process ;

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not seeing that this is helping any. For whatever reason "at" does not result in the script name (or the $1 parm) displaying in the result set of ps -ef.

Both cron and nohup scheduled jobs have the script name in the ps -ef result.

Any other ideas or suggestions??

Is it normal for the process generated when running a shell script with "at" to not display the name of the script when using the "ps -ef" command??

If so, how can one specifically identify the running process associated with a script submitted with "at". The suggestion above of passing in a parm doesn't seem to work. Or, at least, I'm not doing it right...
