remshd: Login incorrect.
Hi,

i am trying to do a RCP from a reality environment machine to a unix directory and coming up with the error

remshd: Login incorrect.

Any ideas?

What is a "reality environment machine" ?
How many computers or perhaps virtual machines are involved here?
What Operating System(s) and version(s) are you running?
What Shell(s) are you using?

I don't think that you can get a "remsh" error message from "rcp".
What did you type?
Have you read "man .rhosts"?
Can you "ping" from the source computer to the object computer?

Hi,

Reality is Northgate's highly effective MultiValue SQL enabled database environment (According to their website)

I have now managed to sort this problem. the entry for the above database (System name) was not in hosts_equiv on the remote machine!

Thanks anyway
