Can you explain this a little further? You say that you want to know how many files are in a directory, but not existing files........

Hi,

My problem is i have a situation where i will move some files to a directory and run a job outside unix and after completion of that job i will move some more files to unix path.

I need to find out what is file count in the directory during the second move..

The time the files created will be different for both set of files..But i couldn't find out a way to get file count..

Thanks
