Computer UNIX Wannabe

Heya folks,
I have a computer that is dying to have UNIX installed. However due to the fact that I can pinch a penny until it screams for mercy, I would like to install a FREE version if UNIX.

I have a version of Red Hat Linux, but I am afraid that is not enough like Unix to really get a good background in it.

Can anybody give me a link or a starting point of some type? I keep hearing about free BSD?

Linux or Unix

Are these all Linux? I thought BSD was Unix but all the rest appear to be Linux?

Best Regards,

If you have an Intel machine, you may try Solaris for x86.
I belive that it's the cheaper option to get "Unix at home".
That should be all right to play around with.

Note: If I am not wrong, Sun do not support anymore Solaris on x86 platforms.
