FX890 Printer Margin Settings

We have several HP FX-890 printers set up on our UNIX server to print invoices. All of the printers should be set up the same way (i.e. same margins, same paper height, etc). Our printer named invoice4 is now printing like the margins are shorter than the other printers. By that I mean it will print most of the line, and then move down to the next line to finish it. I have tried swapping out printers, and the problems still is occuring. Is there a way so that I can go in and see what the settings are for the printers to see if something has happened to invoice4. I have tried lpstat -p invoice4, but all I get is something about queing.

Thanks,
Mark

Does the left margin start the print line in the correct position?
Is the font size the same as on the others.
Is the emulation the same Epson/IBM/Okidata.
Is wrap turned off by default on the printer.
Can you trap the output to a disk file, so that you can see if there are any escape sequences at the beginning of the data.
Can you change the serial port that invoice4 is attached to? Does the problem follow?
What OS are you using,?

the left margin does start in the same place
the font is the same
the emulation is the same
wrap is the same as the other printers
Not sure how to trap the output
it's not hooked to a serial port, but is using a network cable getting the info for the output from the UNIX server
The problem remains even if I change printers

Are you printing using lpr/lpd or HPJetdirect, or SMB?
Which operating system?

I believe we're using lpr/lpd.
And I also think we're using SCO UNIX for our UNIX server.

Sorry to be uncertain and vague, but I inherited this system from our head of the I.T. dept, that as of 2 weeks ago, is no longer with us. He took care of the UNIX problems and I took care of most everything else.

Run 'uname -X' to get the operating system release info.
Run 'scoadmin' and open the printers section to list all the printers, a 'L' in column 1 indicates a local printer, or HP printer, an 'R' indicates a remote lpr/lpd printer.
If you can use a graphical X session, scoadmin is much easier to use, otherwise use the following.
The scoadmin screen made up of three rectangles, use the tab key to change rectangles.
Use the arrow keys to move about within a rectangle
Use the enter key to make a selection.
Use the space bar to mark a row, or radio button.

Okay the operating system release info is 3.2v5.0.7
It's a remote printer
