Can you automate CVS?

Currently we have a load of files which we manually edit and then commit back into CVS ready for whoever else to edit.

I have now made a script which auto-populates these files, however the powers that be still want them accessible via CVS. Is there a way I can automatically commit these files back into CVS once my script has populated them?

It's been a long time since I had to use cvs but it definitely has a commandline utility, which should be scriptable.

Question Do you mean CSV?

CVS = pharmacy
CSV = comma separated values

I think you mean CSV, right?

CVS also means "concurrent versioning system", an old-fashioned source code repository/tracker/merger. If you've heard of subversion, it's like that.

Hi guys, yes I was referring to CVS - concurrent versioning system.

I have a load of files which I need to commit to CVS nightly, however would like a way of doing it automatically.
