dummies question

Please help to answer some highlighted question below.

1. How to create more than 1 partition in a single hard disk?

2. How to format the created partition to be viewable like in windows C: or D: ?

3. How to use pen drive in unix environment?

4. How to find a file starting with alphabet A for the entire harddisk?

5. As I am a unix dummies how and what is the procedure preparation should I need before I can seat for unix exam and become Unix administrator certified? Any recommended reference book or course?

I don't get you. It is all my doubt as a unix dummies start learning here and there but without any proper guideline.

Just asking, as questions 1-4 are usually used in various courses and interviews, and as such should be answered by what one has learned so far, and not by asking on a forum.

As I said earlier that I just start learning on Unix my own sure this will be look like a beginner question. I would like to apologize if I' m post wrongly at here. I just need some guide from here.

  1. Depends on the current contents of the disk, and which OS you're using.
  2. By setting the partition type to (hexadecimal) 7 (NTFS) or b (FAT32), and formatting it accordingly. If that's possible and how again depends on the OS used.
