Problem using RSH

Hi,

I have an old solaris 2.6 box and I need to copy all the data from the hard drive onto another machine. It does not have ssh installed so I am forced to use rsh. My plan was to execute the rcp command from the solaris box to a Centos 5 machine. I have installed rsh client and server on my centos 5 box. When I try and execute the rcp command I get the following:

Code:
10.20.202.131: Connection refused

I have tried dozens of different techniques and read so many man pages but I cannot seem to fix the problem. Seems as if rshd is not enabled on my centos box but I have no idea what to do to fix the problem. Please help. Detailed instructions would be appreciated.

I don't know CentOS but you could have a look for /etc/inetd.conf if the line for rsh is commented. Uncomment it and refresh/restart your inetd.
If you use xinetd, check for /etc/xinetd.d/rsh.
