That should echo Machine name and then the hostnames command into the test file every minute shouldnt it?

Cant seem to get it working.

Hi.

I'm not aware that you can execute things like this inside the crontab file.

For what you are trying to do:

and change the first * to */1?

* means every minute...

*/n means every n'th minute... if n = 1, then */n = *

Ok, thanks alot. Just that i remember putting just a 1 there for 1 minute and instead it doing it at 1 minute past every hour.
