Is there a step by step instructions for creating a simple phone list?

I quite don't understand what you want. When creating one you might use your favourite editor and write it down.
If you want a phone list "data base" instead of a plain file, be more precise what you need please.

Basically you might want to have an interface where to enter new data and another where you can query for names, numbers etc. Also you have to think where to store it while a plain file might be easiest.

I have to make a simple phone list for school, and not real sure of the commands.
