Hello All

Tony yes, that is essentially what I am saying ie. get rid of spaces inside speech marks. But not all of the spaces though ..

Before :
Code:
text text "text text     .ldt" "   text text   "
text text "  text text         .ldt  " "    text     text     "


After

Code:
text text "text text.ldt" "text text"
text text "text text.ldt" "text text"

If you wanted only the space to be removed from the value of the variable which is at the end of line.

Code:
sed -e 's/="\s*/="/' -e 's/\s*"$/"/' t1

Else come up with clear requirement, and give good visibility.
