Cau try to login to the host and check if you have necessary permission to log in to the host or not?

As i have already mentioned that i dont have user credential to that remote box.

{Actually while running a script for checking out from star team(like vss/cvs) which is installed in remote m/c. and due to some time difference between my unix and remote unix m/c we are getting error while checkout going on. so they told me what is the time difference between remote server and my unix system? To know what is date time in that remote server it is very lengthy process. star team software is installed in remote m/c. we are accessing star team through star team credential. and we dont have user crential.}

Option 1: Find out which time source the remote server is synchronizing with, and set your computer(s) so use the same
Option 2: If there is no such source, set up a time server which uses NTP. Most OS can synchronize with that (known to me: *BSD, Linux, Windows, HP-UX)
