Usually that error comes from missing hyphens (e.g. "prune" instead of "-prune").

Solved, instead of

filter_list=$filter_list" \( ! -name \"$BASEDIR\" -prune \)"

I should use

filter_list=$filter_list" ( ! -name "$BASEDIR" -prune )"
# 10  
Old 08-10-2009
Beware that the double quotes will be paired leaving $BASEDIR in the gap.
