Don't mess around with Oombera, but still an addition
vi /tmp/file/1
From inside the file:
:1
/happy
Now you will be transferred to the first line and than to the first word "happy"
If you want to find the next just press the letter "n" If you want to search backwards press "N". If you want to search backwards already at the beginning that replace the "/" with a "?" So:
?happy
Searches the file backwards. If you want to search and replace automaticly, you do :
:1,$s/happy/sad/g
This means ":1,$" Line number 1 untill the end.
"s/happy/sad/" Replace happy with sad
"g" do it multiple times per line (if needed)
If you want to replace happy manualy do it the following :
/happy
cwsad<esc> # This is ChangeWord sad
n # for next word
. # This repeats the last action what was a "cwsad" You don't need to press <esc> anymore
That's all I can think of
