How to calculate percentage of two values in unix.

Substitute the values for whatever you need.

With percentages try to do the multiply before the divide.

#Two decimal places

Less important in bc. But if you don't need decimal places, you can do it in shell by that principle:

$ PERCENT=$(( (4*100)/5 ))
$ echo $PERCENT
80
$

# 6

Just as important in "bc".

The answer here should be 5% .

echo '10/200*100'|bc
0

echo '(10*100)/200'|bc
