Coping Files for a specific date range
Hi,

we have file name appended by date in yymmdd format .. ex: abc090101.dat

I need to copy all the files between abc090101 to abc090331..

could you plz help me..

Hi.

As your end date is the 1st March (and not the end of a month), it might be easier to use two statements:
Code:
cp *090[12]*.dat to_somewhere
cp *090301.dat to_somewhere

Update:

Thanks for updating your post Smilie

Now you want until the end of March.

Then you only need one statement, as I'm sure you've guessed!

cp *090[1-3]*.dat to_somewhere
