Richard Steven's book

I am new to UNIX, only one year experience. Currently working on my SCSA exam. I have a question about the book I am going to read.

should I read TCP -IP Illustrated Vol 1 2 3 before UNIX Network Programming or it really doesn't matter?

I just want to follow the right path in order to build up solid unix knowledge.

Thanks a lot for your time

I don't think it matters. Personally, UNIX Network Programming was my first UNIX book, along with a shell programming reference.

However, I was on-the-job and was writing a client-server application in C, so I had little choice in the matter.
