If you can use ksh93, the following will do what you want
Code:
#!/bin/ksh93

daysago=100

((daysago++))
while (( --daysago ))
do
      printf "%(%D)T\n" "${daysago} days ago"
done

print all dates 100 days from current date

I tried this code but i am getting this error message
Code:
daysago++: more tokens expected

can anyone please suggest me what this mean

Thanks
Mark

It probably means that you are using some shell other than ksh93.

daysago++ means increment the variable daysago by 1. It can also be written as
Code:
daysago=$((daysago + 1))

Try...
Code:
#!/usr/bin/ksh
Days=100
perl -e '
  $d = time() - ($ARGV[0] * 86400);
  for ($i = 0; $i <= $ARGV[0]; $i++) {
    @f = localtime($d);
    printf "%04d%02d%02d\n", $f[5]+1900, $f[4]+1, $f[3];
    $d += 86400;
  }' $Days
