Question printing to mulitple printers

I want to send a single report from my application to mulitple printers with one command.
I tried using a synomym and assigning it to different printers, but it stops when it finds the first hit.

Has anyone done this at the unix level through printcap?

What is the OS and version?

Rxlaser state in it's intro that it can do this as does Helios.

Helios states that it can set up a 'clone' printer queue to send the same job to multiple printers.

I would think it would then be possible to do what you are looking for with either the default printing process or possible with CUPS (which I believe is free).

See this question about two queues going to one printer - it may help on figuring out a way to do your problem.

Unfortunately, I don't have printers to test with from UNIX. I may set up a file as a printer and see what happens - if I get a chance.

Thanks.
We are on digital unix and I found out its not possible in our version. Someday we will upgrade. Maybe.
