Power how do i do this ?

how do i make new hdd for mandrake 9.0
i have a 10 gb drive with root or /boot/swap/ ./
i'v ran out of room how do i add a drive in it like windows xop does you add the drive and wa la
it sayes it ready to use and you can add more to root and so on like you never ran out of room so how to i linux

First, make sure your hdd is already recognized by BIOS. Then after you bootup linux edit /etc/fstab

In general I think you should not move your root partition around. If you need more space in the /home tree, then move the home tree to the new hard disk. In this way, your /etc/fstab should have something *like* this:

/dev/hdb1 /home auto defaults 0 0

provided you only have one primary partition which is already created a linux partition on it (say ext2/3/reiserfs)

Alternatively, LVM may be a better solution to you. But I haven't tried this before so can't give you any comments on that.

10GB is a lot! I don't know why you need that much space but, ... well.

ok

ok werer is the fstab located i relly do'nt do editing that much so you will need to help me please

my main 10gb drive is my /boot/swap/../
i all so have a 40gb drive i keed to know how to make it one big super drive like a 60gb

my 40 is a /home2 I made it. I need to know how to
edit it so show up on my desktop and when i download it will goto to that drive instead of my 10 gb and install things to the 40gb like rpms and so on
