Does anyone know how to set the timeout limit on Solaris ftp machine.

If you're using the standard ftpd, you just need to add a "-t 300" (or whatever you want) to the command line. Run the command "man ftpd" for details. With the standard setup, you would add the "-t 300" to the end of the ftp line in the file /etc/inetd.conf. Then either reboot, or send a -1 signal to the inetd process so it rereads the file.
