SCO openserver 5.0.6 Telnet Problems

Hi guys,
Please bear with me

i have a sco 5.0.6 openserver i'm telnet in to it. (via dsl)
After 7 minutes it will kick me out of my program.

Is there any settings that i need to change in order to stop the time out problem.

I dont have any router or hub (dsl modem to nic card )

Also i tried modem in to the server , login as root and it will desconect me if i'm idle for 7 minutes and 40 seconds .

If someone please could help me with this.

Thanks a lot guys

I can't believe I can't find something better to do at work... Smilie

I figured beforehand that it's probably a setting in OpenServer that is disconnecting you, but I downloaded tiny term anyway and tried looking for some sort of timeout option.. didn't find any. I'm not sure what that setting is in OpenServer though, sorry..

Check out this link from PCUNIX.com - it mentions a few different ways of timeouts being set. You would first need to see if they are being used to figure out how to change the timeout.

Idle time out on a sco openserver 5.0.6

Hi,
I login just to see that the issue on the above had been closed pls could you permit me to contribute my quota to this issue:

you either correct your idle time from /etc/default/idleout

or you go through the sysadmsh and select;
system then configure then logout and enter your idle time

Thanks
