Updating DNS entry

what files do I edit?? or what am trying to get at here is that is this process of updating dns entries relatively simple or very complicated. please tell me about the files that are involved

What bind are you using? What version? What OS?

Are you using any third-party software to update DNS?

If your running FreeBSD you can check the Handbook . I'm sure it will give you some insight even if your not using FreeBSD.
