syslog.log - hp-ux
Hi,

Following error message apeared in the syslog.log file of our hps2_dc server.

Mar 10 17:22:12 hps2_dc vmunix: 0/4/0/0.1.3.255.14.1.0 sctl
Mar 10 17:22:31 hps2_dc vmunix: 0/4/0/0: Unable to access previously accessed device at nport ID 0x10300.

Could it be a hardware problem related message. And any suggestions on how to solve it.

Have you been removing a device, like a disk recently? If not, use ioscan to find out what is that 0/4/0/0 device.

I had the same problem once. Here's what i've done: since it seem to me that OS needs to recognize all the devices again, u may need to issue this command: ioscan -En, but this should take some time. What it does, is forcing kernel to recognize devices drivers and reload them.
