I have looked in all the settings in the "netconfig" window, there is no place to enter the default router or default gateway. I am attaching a pic of the screen. I will keep trying to find answers with Google. It looks like my /etc/resolv.conf file should be fine - remember this is my old working hard drive so all I need to do is get the new NIC working. Thanks for any advice.

After further inspection, I don't think my NIC driver is getting installed at all, even though it gives me no errors. When I type this command: ifconfig -a it shows the Loopback and then it shows another entry with all 0.0.0.0, so I believe that means SCO is not recognizing my card. I can experiment with other drivers, but I know the onboard LAN ports are Intel. I thought I might get a blank HD and go through a new SCO installation, because I know that when it comes to setting up the network I can select "auto detect" and see what comes up there, but now since I am on new hardware I don't know what to enter at the Boot: prompt so that the installation can find my DVD drive and my Hard Drive. I'm using a SATA drive with IDE emulation in the BIOS. Any help with a bootstring that might work?

i don't see an attachment?
you could run:
Code:
route add default 192.168.1.1

although you will have to add it to somewhere in /etc/rc2.d to have it survive a reboot. (where 192.168.1.1 is the gateway address)

Trying to attach my pic again - I do not have a blank for "default router".

you have to download and install the device driver.ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/dr...6/network/eeE/

OK, is that because I have moved the HD to new server hardware? I am having trouble installing because when I run this: mount /dev/cd0 /mnt to try and copy the VOL file from the cd i just burned, it says there is no device /dev/cd0, even though cd0 is listed in /dev. I tried going through the Hardware manager in scoadmin, and adding the EIDE CD drive, but is still isn't working. I'm probably missing some steps. I think the only method I have available to copy the VOL file into the system right now is via CD, so can you tell me how to get my CD drive recognized in the system? Thanks

Presumably the motherboard has 4 sata ports. in iDE mode they correspond to primary master 000, primary slave 001, secondary master 010, and secondary slave 011.

You probably only have to move the cdrom sata cable to the correct port, based on how it was configured in the previous system.
the configuration is stored in the text file /etc/conf/cf.d/mscsi.
