Question Network backup???

Hi all,

I have 4 unix servers (2 of them are OpenBSD 2.8, and the other 2 RedHat) Is there any way i can backup those servers through the network to a hard drive. I have checked NDMP though. Is there any free software network backup software or smth like that? All comments and suggestions are very welcome.

Thank you all.

Depending on your set-up you can always arrange a crontab to "ufsdump" backup your systems. You have to check your hard disk partitions (slices) with mount, fdisk, df, bdf etc. Then you will be able to backp whatever you need.

Yeah, i could do that. What i wanted to do is to back up all my servers to one remote hard drive, let's say on a separte machine with enough of storage intended just for backup purposes.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you all

What about Amanda? It can even use Samba to backup Windows machines!
