AIX p570 lspv, lslv etc... not working

Hi we are running a VIO server on a AIX p570
we cannot run and of the command the query the ODM

has anyone seen this problem or has a solution

the command just hangs.

maybe the environment variable ODMDIR is not set. Usually it is pointing to /etc/objrepos
