Hammer & Screwdriver Printing a document in UNIX

Hi,
I would like to know the command to print a document with portait option.

Note : I used the below command, however I am not getting any output and it is blocking the printer queue.

Code:
lp -d Dubprint -o portrait Adhoc_stmt

Also, how can I see the default printer settings and how to change it. i.e. Where can I change the printer default setting from landscape to portait

Thanks
Mani

How about the O/S and printer identities, so we know what sort of lp configuration to look at?

There are specific options, sometimes depending on the printer type and driver, for defaulting and requesting the portrait/landscape mode. There are even command sequences you can prefix to the lp stream, if you know what fits the destination printer.
