Print line if subsrt matches array

Hi Folks!

im printing all lines where the characters in position 270-271 match 33|H1|HA|KA|26 so i came up with this

array=(33 H1 HA KA 26 )
for  i in "${array[@]}"
#echo $i
awk '{ if (substr($0,270,2)~'/$i/') print; }' $1 >> $1.temp

It works fine . but instead of a script i want it as a AWK one liner ... an suggestions ?

awk 'substr($0,270,2) ~ /33|H1|HA|KA|26/' INPUTFILE

Thanks yazu! oneliner works

it did find a round about way to do, not proud of it though Smilie

cut -c 270-271 main.txt | egrep -n '33|H1|HA|KA|26' | awk -F ':' '{print $1 }' >> main.lineno

foreach line (`cat main.lineno`)
#echo $line
    sed -n "$line{p;d}" main.txt >> main.txt.extract

The downside of this script is that it takes tonnes of time to get the same work done .
