non-gui editor

Besides these text editors I list below, what other non-gui editors are there? I am using an old system and I am surprised vi is the only text editor I can find.

emcas, vi(m), pico, nano, ted, and ed

Small wonder. pico and nano are rather new editors, mostly shipped with Linux than any other OS. ed and vi were pretty much the first editors around if I remember correctly, with Emacs showing up shortly afterwards. But vi/ed had the advantage of lesser resource hunger, which is why most systems have a vi-compatible editor installed by default.

Other than those listed there's ex, jed, and JOE.

Thank you. It was driving me crazy that I couldn't remember ex. Of course it has that one since it has vi.
