1) Search google for "sp556.sdd" and watch it return precisely "0" results.

2) I'm sure that if it does exist, Driver will certainly know what it is.

You really need to start curbing some of the nonsense chatter and keep the discussion technical. A lot of these posts are just creating noise within the knowledge base. Also, you should avoid insulting people -- "You wouldn't know what it is!" -- isn't going to do you any favours.

If you are trying to implement a database, you could always get the source code for MySQL or PostgreSQL and have a read through that.

Cheers

And one other point, If you are designing a database as a learning tool, great !!!!. However if you need a database Check out www.mysql.com It contains a totaly free and powerful database engine that will run on just about any platform. Smilie

Bug learning tool and personal database for future use...!

Smilie my main goal right now is to implement the use of creating this databse just to learn the hardcore techniques and command structuures of unix.. other wise i have plans for it in the future and have speculated on using sql or php to take it a step further.. but I am not sure if that would take away from the great pleasure that I am getting out of using unix as basic tool. i would like to think the whole project is possible without having to go further than C unless the main focus remains on unix itself if I apply sql forsinstance.. but as a newbie i haven't had the chance to investigate that yet!!??
thanx for the input moxxx68Smilie
