I need to know why is Unix considered as more secure as compared to Windows. Following points are known but the reason is not known:
i. File access permissions can be provided user wise in unix.
.....but if i share my file in windows, then on that also access permissions can be provided.
ii. For logging into Unix, userId/password required.
......but same can be enabled in windows too.
the problem with windows security is that :
there is ALWAYS a backdoor to IT .
there is NO windows server/pc called secured if its not
1) running an antivirus (a)
2)running behind a unix firewall (
a) the architecure it self of windows allows viruses ti exists
of unix exactly not .
So even if you spend months securing a windows machine, if you dont install an antivirus + hide it behinde a firewall : you will be hacked , it is a FACT sorry !!
the only reason windows exists , it s its availability on PC way cheaper than MACs for folks that needed badly a GUI and didnt have the skills/money to get unix Workstations ...
Linux for instance, get patched about 24h max after a hole is found .(when there is , which is rare)
Windows : even WIN7 has an unfixed backhole dating from win2000 !!!
MS cant fix it because : done quickly it will break compatibility
done seriously it will cost too much and they wont have arguments to sell WIN8 9 etc ... saying they are more secure ....
best regards and thank for giving me a reason to write this

one more detail about the virus story :
there are wormholes too and you can say : yes but i wont go on the net , nor let anyone log on ... well 1) then you need a server anymore
and 2) a SAPAIN-AIR aircraft system server became irresponsive, one of their airplanes crashed once, 1XX died !!! you know why ?
it was a windows based server hit by a virus !!!
yes the server was in a bunker, but still got hit , and HUMAINS BEING DIED !!!
sorry for this truth
another very important detail about viruses/wormholes :
an antivirus by definition, scans (when it can (lol)) you storage and memory for files that have or include a finger-print of a virus, these finger-prints are in a database updated but the vendor when he/she discovers a new virus , and here is the weekness :
a NOT YET repertoried virus can infect the whole planet whithout any one knowing it
only after beeing subgected to it,
and who knows what it can be ...
