Differential or Incremental backups in Unix

Hi,

Just wanted to know is there any way that we can take differential or incremental backups in Unix(Solaris/AIX/Linux or Hpunix). What is the procedure. Is any doc avaialble on this?

Its urgent and any help/suggestions would be highly appreciable.

About what Unix flavour are you talking? You want to use basic tools that come with the base OS or additional software?

Most of these platforms have "dump" which provides basic backup functionality. See the individual manual pages for information and functionality.
