Process calls - making sense of truss results

Can someone point me at resources for system calls? Specifically, I am trying to make sense of what I am seeing in a truss command. Thanks!

I found this on sunsolve in the free collections, so hopefully the link works for you. The doc id is 23148.

Here is a link to another article on truss called "Put a trace on it: a command you can truss."

Here is a link to the first document that will work without a sunsolve account...

http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retr...zone_110=23148

That "private-cgi" in the link tells you that you must be logged in to use the link.
