network speed is slow

Hello, everyone:
i encounter a problem these days , pls help me ,thanks in advance.

my env:
machine: ES40 A ES40 B
os: true64 Unix 4.0f

note: src.tar 8M network card speed 100M

my problem:

A#>ping A (successful)
B#>ping B (successful)

A#>rcp ./src.tar B:/tmp (the speed is too slowly , you can't suffer this speed )

B:#>rcp ./src.tar A:/tmp (the speed is ok)

i don't know why , if you know the reason that except hardware (netcard) failure , pls tell me , thanks!

Thank you very much . hope your reply!

check your network settings, it could be you are using the wrong ones, find out what speed your network is.

You may find your set to full duplex instead of half or 10mb instead of 100mb
