Question invoke remote graphical application..and display locally

Hi,

I want to invoke(run) a graphical application remotely, and the display should be in remote itself. (no X redirect).i want to do this through ssh.

like if i login to a remote machine and run firefox it should display there itself.

how can i do this..?

Not sure if I got that, but maybe you mean something like VNC via/over/through SSH Smilie
Google contains plenty of instructions how to set that up.

ok.. here is the scenario.

my friend often closes a application(pidgin). so i am not able to communicate with him..

i will be sitting very far from him.. so cant go often..
so whenever he closes that application i want to start that once again..

i have root ssh access to his machine and we both use ubuntu 10.04

so any chance of getting this done..?

Using remote rsync, but copy locally?
