problem with /var/mail directory

Hi,

There is no "administrator" file in "/var/mail" directory........
can any one tell me what could be the reason for that?...and also how to resolve that???

may you provide more details about the issue? (what os, software, what actions you or the system is trying to perform, fragments of error logs reporting the problem, etc.)

I need to execute test scripts using "crontab".....and parallely i need to verify the execution ...

Can you please tell me,
 Is "administrator"(user_name)  file is default in  "/var/mail" directory?

cd /var/mail/
sudo vi administrator
save and quiet using "wq"
sudo chown -v administrator administrator->To change ownership because initially it is "root"
 -------------------------------------------------------
Above commands working perfectly..

I dont know whether some other ways are there (or) not..
let me know,if any other ways are there???

Surely the name of the administration user is "root" ?
