Hi All,

I need help on this issue and it is a production server.

/usr is unable to mount and make system can't even type any commands.

Only this show and no changes makes to the system.

ERROR: svc:/system/filesystem/root:default failed to mount /usr (see 'svcs -x'
for details)
Requesting System Maintenance Mode
(See /lib/svc/share/README for more information.)
Console login service(s) cannot run

The only way is to bring down the system to maintenance mode and perform a filesystem check. Worst case scenario if its unrepairable, you will have to restore the whole /usr from your last backup. Have experienced this a number of times.

Boot from a Solaris 10 CD or DVD into single user mode. From the OK prompt:
boot cdrom -s
(use 'cdrom' even if it's a DVD)
Once booted up you'll have access to the commands you'll need to run fsck on the /usr partition if needed or make other changes. If possible mount the root partition to /mnt then get and post the contents of the file /etc/vfstab that might help us locate the problem if fsck does not solve it.

I already run all of it and all show no error. but when boot up time. failed.

after I found /etv/vfstab all goes wrong to md but i use vx instead of md.

restore it and boot it up.

never using SVM but don't know why all path change to /dev/md.
