I am confused c#t#d#s# once I learn the following :
slice 0 ...... 0 to 2520
slice 1....... 2521 to 2840
slice 6........2841 to 8891
slice 2........0 to 8891
really really confused. Please explain.

That is the cylinder count for each slice. Slice 2 is a special device the system uses to reference the whole drive at once thus it shows up using the entire range of cylinders.

c0 = controler number

t0 = SCSI Target Number

D0 = Disk Number

S0 = Slice or Partition Number.

eg:
c0t0d0s0 will be the first disk
c0t1d0s0 will be the second disk

1) vijay told D0 (D zero) is disk number.
2) incredible told : c0t0d0s0 will be the first disk
c0t1d0s0 will be the second.
Then how come in 1) dis number and in 2) t1 second ????
Please clarify
