Thanks for your replay.

I dont have any disk group and SAN. I am using Intel P3-1GHz,512 and two Hard disks (40gb and 20gb). In 40gb i have installed Solaris 10(2005) and Storage Foundation's Veritas Volume Manager 5.0. 20gb hard disk is empty. How can i bring 20gb into cds format.?

post the required outputs .
include /etc/vfstab , df -h, vxdisk -o alldgs list , vxdg list, vxprint -ht ,
format .. specify clearly what you're looking out for Smilie

Is the disk which cannot be added an IDE disk?

I dont have any diskgroups and volumes. Just i need to bring a disk under veritas control using #vxdisksetup command. I would like to make a CDS diskgroup. Out puts of tried commands are..

I have operating system in c1t1d0 disk.
c0t0d0 is empty disk.


I have tried to disable/enable DMP.

Yes, I am using IDE disks. I am able to add disk into simple and sliced formats.
But i can't able to add that disk into CDS format.
Doesn't IDE support CDS format?

unable to bring up any interface

I have Linux 7.1 setup on a Dell and am unable to bring up any interfaces. Both the lo and eth0 fail upon boot up and I get a insmod error possibly due to bad irq or IO setting.
