cluster on heterogeneous Hardware

Hi all ,

Just as simple question . can i run Sun cluster HA or Veritas HA on systems that have different hardware (heterogeneous ) of course same OS and patch level . for example :

can a V400 and an E2900 be clustered HA using one of the above softwares .

Thanks
Cheers

yes, with both in fact.

In either case the limiting factor is the capacity of the servers to run the (potential) workload in service failover scenarios.

Sure you can, the only thing you have to consider is the load resources, if primary and standby server are both running different application in a cluster then both primary and secondary server must have enuf cpu, memory swap resources to able to run both apps in the event one of server is down.
