Pkgadd failures with Solaris 11

I have some simple package installations that have worked in previous versions of Solaris just fine. I can install the packages, then install newer versions right over the top without error. In previous versions I had to specify the -G option during the installation in order for this to work.

Now, for some reason, that no longer works. I can work around it by adding 'SUNW_PKG_THISZONE=true in my pkginfo file, but it doesn't seem right to me.

Any thoughts on this?

Quick update - and it is WEIRD. I found that if I have a request script in my pkgmap this problem goes away. I literally added a request script that does absolutely nothing, and bam, this problem goes away immediately. Thoughts?
