Solaris 11 uses ZFS as filesystem for the root disk... Start reading here:

https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E53394_01...801/index.html

If you need further advice, please report back.

Thanks got this we can create FS later after installation, but what about eg. /var partition where already OS data exists and if we create new FS what about existing data .

Also is it possible to create define FS during installation .

You should really try to understand what ZFS is and how to handle stuff. For the /var mount you can chose to have it on a different slice during the Solaris installation. Please read the really good documentation about Solaris and how to plan an installation properly!

There is no need to customize /var. It is always a separate file system on Solaris 11. On the other hand, /usr cannot be separated from /. Don't try to do it afterwards, you'll probably break your system. /home is automatically handled if you create local users properly. Each user created by the standard Solaris utilities is given his/her own file system, no need either to customize anything. You might have /opt wherever you want as it's not part of the OS.
