Cannot list /vol after reboot

Hi all,

I had to recently reboot a solaris machine (solaris 10 update1). After reboot I was unable to list the vol directory under root. It literally is stuck there and times out

# pwd
/
# ls vol
^C#

What could have possibly gone wrong?
Request some info on this /vol folder. Why is it used.

Thanks in advance,

What is the /vol directory? Mountpoint? Automount directory? Symlink? Please provide more details.

Hi,

Isnt this vol directory part of solaris file structure?
Solaris Directory Structure (File System Structure) Explained with Examples
/vol - volumes directory - Disk volumes mounted under this directory.

Query regarding vol directory was part of my question in the first place.

Thanks,
