Cloning Solaris 10 with zones

Hello,

What is the best method to use to clone a Solaris 10 machine with zones, to ensure all software and config can be easily installed on new hardware?

Thank You

Standard method to clone Solaris machine is Flash Archive. Unfortunately it is not compatible with zones: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18752_01/...create-66.html.

You could work around that, by detaching all the zones and then creating flar of the global zone. Install new server using generated flar, then move detached zones to that server and attach them there.

reattaching zones

Much appreciated!!, what is the way to detach the zones and reattach them? Is there sperate data that would need to be copied, or all is there from recovering the global zone in the flar then running some commands to reattach the zones?
Thank you!

are you using zfs?

If so there is a much easier way.
