I did that,

No errors were encountered.

The config looks good from what I can see... can you provide a prtvtoc output for both disks? also, how are the disks mirrored? and yes, the solaris version (cat /etc/release)would also be good info!

I was actually trying to unencapsulate the disk from Vertias volume manager.
I was following this guide lines here

When I encountered an error here

but I proceded in removing the entries in /etc/system and vfstab.
