Question: # of ldoms on T5240 with 2 T2 US 8 core

I have a T5240 with 2 T2 US 8 core.. Theoretically how many ldoms can I configure?

How much memory do you have? What's your expected workload? What kind of performance does your application require? These questions are more relevant than the theoretical number of possible ldoms. The theoretical number is likely in the hundreds, but in the real world other limitations will come into play that make that unattainable.

Thanks.. It's all just in the lab right now. What I have is 64gb of memory. planning to use this as a application and db server. As for the anticipated work loads, I dont know right now. Part of the exercise is to get an idea of the load

You just need to start testing your applications and workloads. That's a fairly beefly server so I think you'll be able to do a good amount of work.

"Theoretically" you could have more than 120 LDOMs (as your server has 128 processor threads), but performance on each of them would be very low.
