M5000 XSCF Console disconnecting when putty session is closed

Hi,

I would appreciate some help.

I remotely access, across a VPN, an M5000 and when I connect to the XSCF I can then access the OS using console -d0 and then I can get to the console.

The problem I have is that I need to run something which will take many hours and I can't run it in the background (don't ask, bad application design). When my putty session dies, for whatever reason, and I log back on the command that was running in the console also dies. In the ILOM world I'm pretty sure this doesn't happen so how can I stop this happening in the XSCF world?

Thanks,
G

do you connect to the M5000 domain and from there the XSCF of the same server oder do you connect to the XSCF directly?

also, why not connecting to the domain and use the nohup option?

putty over SSH directly to the XSCF then type console -d0 to get to the domain

nohup is not an option (see original post), hence the reason for using the console
