Hi
I would like to ask if somehow i missed some files in configuration of joining a domain below is the procedure i take:
modify /etc/nsswitch.conf
host: file dns
modify /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver ipaddress
nameserver ipaddress
domain ft.domain.com
search my.domain.com
also i used the /etc/defaultdomain and no luck at all
In addition the /etc/hosts file is ok since i tested in an put some of my system in the domain and hostname lookup is ok.
Somehow my problem is in the sparc dns lookup although i have a linux server the above config is ok and no problem.
Thanks for any responce.

I found the problem.
It a dump mistake. i name the /etc/resolv.conf instead of with "e" /etc/resolve.conf.
Maybe this question is valid..
what service or command should i used or reload so that the new dns conf will take effect..this one i restart the system before if function.
