Hi Guys,
I am little bit confused about jumpstart on solaris 10.
Do you need the mac address for each system you intend to jumpstart? If you need the mac address, how will you get it? Say your server is in another location and you want to jumpstart it, how will you do it?

Hi all
I need to install a jumpstart server. Okay done this before but I need to get over the boot server having to be in the same subnet issue. Searching google, it seems that Solaris 10 allows you to use DHCP, so instead of arp/rarp, I can now use this.

Could someone assist me with the following issue. Recently I downloaded a document that walked me through creating a Solaris 10 Sparc jumpserver. It was only when I tried to use the server to push an OS to a client box when I realized that the document was a step by step intrcutions for a Solaris... (3 Replies)

Hi Peeps,
Created a jumpstart server for an unattened install and it works, but got 2 bugs in the config which I would like to work out:
when you boot net install
It still asks you to select a language and locale, after you do this it kicks of an unattended install.

Can you jump x86 systems from a sparc platform? and/ or the opposite?

Hello all,
I configured a jumpstart server ( the server is in the same subnet as the client) and gave boot net - install in the client.
The client boots up shows the banner and then displays error:
cant read disk label
cant open disk label package
and then goes to OK prompt.
